If I embed a youtube vid on my website, will it count on youtube as a play if someone watches it from my site?

On youtube, there is a counter under each video that tells you how many times it has been viewed.

Lets say I upload a video to youtube, and also embed it into my website. The counter on youtube says that it has not been viewed.

If someone comes to my website and clicks the play button on the embedded video, will the counter on its youtube page say that it has been viewed?

Yes, when the video is actually PLAYED, it is counted as a view on the YouTube profile.

If you set the video to autoplay on your webpage, anyone who visits your page will count as a play for that video.
