I want to edit video?

Say I found someting online, like the USofA blowing up a satlite, adn I wanted to add some Star Wars sound effects (Like the DeathStar boom, or Han going "Great shot kid!"), and I then want to upload it to YouTube. What is a good software progran for it? Like Photoshop in quailty and user friendly-ness.

Windows Movie Maker (which is probably already on your computer unless you've got a mac) will do it if your videos are already .wmv format (* see below if not).

Here's my basic steps
1. open win movie maker
2. import video/audio/still images
3 click the collections drop down to find and select the video you want that you have already imported (if you only imported one video in step 1, this will already be done for you)- then drag it to the storyboard at the bottom
4 To add a different audio to a video - click "show timeline" (bottom-left-ish) and then click the drop down to select the video/audio you want to use and then drag it to the "Audio/Music" row (you can drag a video file there and it will just use the audio from it). Then you can move it around to position it on the timeline. Click the mic symbol to adjust volume between the video and the added audio.
5. Click "save to my computer" and choose "Other settings" then I'd recommend using "High Quality Small" from the drop down if you're looking for clips you can upload to YouTube or the like. And you're done.

If what you have are .flv files you can convert them to wmv (or many other file types) with "WinFF" freeware (google it) that's too easy to use, if there is a such thing.

If they are most any other file type besides flv (or wmv) you may try "SUPER 漏" (google it) which is another freeware video conversion program that will convert most any type of file to any other type that works great but it's not as newbie friendly.

Yes there are better programs out there if you want to buy them (I'm kinda partial to AVS video tools and AVS video editor myself, but that's just me) but what I laid out above is all free and will definitely do the job. Windows Movie Maker is really a good program for editing video.

it would take forever.. trust me.. dont you would need to study programs for a LONG time..
adobe after effects.. is one you can try..
but trust me.. your better off just not making any
