How can I download videos from YouTube as Windows Media files?

I tried downloading some with Real Player 11, but they're saved to my desktop as .flv files, which I can't import into MovieMaker.

Copy the url.
Go to http://www.zamzar.com
Click convert.
Paste the url
Chose the format as 'avi'

Its really quick, easy and you don't have to pay.

try opening it in another program and exporting it into a .wmv file.

What I do with my .flv file is open them with iMovie and then exporting it to a quicktime file.

1. try renaming the file and put the extension as .avi, for example filename.avi

2. download total video converter and covert any file (flv, avi, mpeg, wmv, mp3, wma and so) to a format of your choice.
