I want ot upload videos to youtube, but is it safe?

I"m 13 and me and my friend want to put videos on there of us just being silly, ect.
But my mom says nooo its not safe?

Hows it not safe its not like they can track you to your house through your videos.
And i no people put mean comments on videos but i dont care about that.

how do i convince her its allright?

Well since all of your information is stored through YouTube's databases your going to be pretty damn safe through IPTraces and simple location finders. If someone really wanted to prey on you then they could since its the internet and nothing is actually safe on the internet. But you can assure her that YouTube, being the industries current free video provider, will have one of the best security systems in place. Also I believe they have the "Hacker Safe" emblem which is only given to certified sites (which is a really hard thing to get)

being a parent, I highly doubt you will be able to talk her into it. I see no reason for you to be putting yourself out there like that for no good reason, safe or not.

#1: you can make it accessible to only your friends, just type in the ones you'd like to have access
#2: you can disable comment altogether (but if its jut your frinds you might not want to do that)
#3: even putting up a video thats totally public is "safe" although i don't know what concerns your mother has about safety.

Just say that you can publish any videos in youtube as long as it is not obscene, and/or make it a private so that your only buddy can watch your private video.
