.wpl files into something else?

Ok so im trying to upload vids onto youtube, by using hypercam. Windows movie maker wont take my vids, or im not doind it right. the problem is, my vids are .wpl which youtube does not take. so how do i convert .wpl files into something else compatible with youtube, such as .avi or something. this is what youtube accepts.
