Try Answers.com - I've ran across that site a couple of times. But I can't remember if the information written by users.

http://www.wikia.com

i think this will help = encyclopedia.com

Brittanica, and it's more reliable.

answers.com is one of the best one...

well here u will have collection of infromation from differ such site in one single page :)

try it :-)

try a real encyclopedia...
they still exist, ya know.

It depends on what kind of information you are looking for. If you are looking for encyclopedia style information like history, biographies and so on, then there are several websites such as www.britannica.com, www.encyclopedia.com, www.ask.com or encarta.msn.com though they tend to take a while to load. And also, it takes a while to see updated info there. That's the beauty of Wikipedia, as soon as new information is gotten it can be up before you know it. But if you don't want them user edited, there you go a plenty.

Another alternative to Wikipedia is Citizendium, located at en.citizendium.org. It is very much like Wikipedia that everybody can also contribute but takes stronger steps towards reliability. Everybody MUST log in to be able to contribute and entered data are cross-checked by a panel of editors first. Their current 5,400+ articles is far from Wikipedia's 2 million articles but as they said, their aim is "Credibility and quality, not just quantity".

If you are looking for fanboy type stuff, there is still Wikipedia or www.wikia.com. Wikia has more freedom to enter relevant information that may be dismissed by Wikipedia. It's still user edited, so... sorry.

wikileaks
