Is it ok to copy content from wikipedia?


........for the purposes of a web site (not-for-profit organisation) there are a few articles that would be good to add but is a reciprocal link to wiki enough? Their term are very confusing.

Whenever you copy something you have to site the source, otherwise you are guilty of plagiarism. A link to the page is sufficient.

Wiki cannot be copyrighted as it is a sharing encyclopedia people add what they like to it so its not always correct...

Yes, Wiki info is put on by contributors and is in the public domain, it is usual however to cite your source.

u can copy content from wikipedia. i myself have done it loads of times. there's no problem in copying.

Yes as already said you would have to quote the source.
I believe that all copyright material is subject to 'reasonable use' so you shouldn't have a problem with excerpts. If you are going to copy whole articles you would best be advised asking permission first.

yeah, just make sure you put "this article is from Wikipedia" and link the original page somewhere where people can read it...

unless you want to republish the articles copied, it is legal to do so...

still, the informaiton on wikipedia is 50% inaccuarte.

yes its perfectally safe to copy stuff from wikipedia but make sure to not copy everything. Maybe like a paragraph or two.
