Which internet Wikipedia would be the best?

one of my firends said Wikipedia is bad because anyperson can edit what they say, so you can not believe that for 100%
then what should i do? which internet encyclopedia would be the best?

all the best things are free and user made

your friend doesnt really get Wikipedia either if he is dissing it
its a great resource, yes anyone can edit it, but chances are your info is fine
people have way better things to do than "vandalizing" wikipedia, and anyone... can change it back

there are alot of people out there and it goes both ways
if you arent sure, or just like more than one source, then google it

if nothing else wikipedia is a great start

I use http://www.answers.com because its an internet encyclopedia that also has other encyclopedias... its like a 3 in 1 deal

I prefer wikipedia. The fact that any person can edit articles is both its strength and its weakness. It doesn't make wikipedia unreliable though.

Sources are usually well described, and there's a dedicated community constantly verifying and improving upon newly added information.

when you change things on wikipedia they check it afterwards, if you start submitting nonsense into them they'll know it's you because they can view you IP address. So, technically, anyone can change it but it gets fixed quickly if someone tries to add wrong things.

i think your friend is wrong because any one can edit but that edit page is viewd by wikipedia members and if not genuine then it will be deleted from the page. so only genuine thing can remain in wikipedia page.

I know people that love post false informations in wikipedia.

The best encyclopedia will be Knol, the encyclopedia that Google is creating.

http://www.answers.com is a good website. It has Wikipedia information and more information on the topic that you are searching for.
Wikipedia is a place where you can ask other people for some guidance if needed, and it is roughly 95% correct. Use Answers.com mainly, and when in doubt, go to Wikipedia.

I'd stick with wikipedia since for major subjects and articles its pretty good. Any vandalism is quickly corrected. It's the most complete encyclopedia ever created, to whine about some errors and vandalisms doesn't do it credit. Anyway, who's to say that ANY source of information is correct? There are websites which suggest that we are living on the inside of a giant sphere...

As for answers.com, in my experience it is pretty much a complete rip of wikipedia anyway.

Right now, I'd say http://www.britannica.com/.

But over time, http://HelpGlobe.com has great promise, because the rating system ensures quality.
