100,000 Jihadi Muslims Protest Wikipedia - http://www.foxnews.com/story/0... Comments?

What happened is a good example of things going the right way.

It's because the main aim of Wikipedia is information, no information should be censored nor modified for certain groups, as it implies censorship.

Although the images do seem in conflict to Mohammad's instructions, it has existed, it was made, and thus in history and very relevant to the article.

A lot of prejudice also happened with certain articles mostly religious and sometimes even as articles relating to the "Gundam" cartoon/animation series.

PS. Are you one of the active users in that article? =P

It is because of the commandment that "thou shalt have no graven image before me" -- it is considered idolatry.

Islam and the Jewish people both believe in a form of the Talmud, Koran, or Old Testament -- where the 10 commandments appear. Remember when Moses came down from the mountain after 40 days he broke the original tablets because the people had returned to the golden calf and idol worshiping.

This is a very powerful breaking point because we Christians wear crosses and hang crucifixes, and have statues of the Blessed Mary, and other saints. It is my small understanding that to Islam, this is idolatry.

So, imagine having a picture of Mohamed, who is the last prophet for Allah (blessed be), portrayed in an Internet dictionary encyclopedia where "infidels" (non-Islams) see this and do not understand that to them, this is a sign of the idolatry they abhor.

That they are insulted is easy to understand when you let your mind expand. I now wear a cross; it is a big step for me because the church in which I was raised did not approve of the wearing of the cross.
