HOW is Wikipedia so fast in their atricles? They just posted who won NFC championship minutes after it happend

Wikipedia gets contributions from millions of people worldwide. ANYBODY can post stuff on wikipedia. It is surprisingly transparent in the way it takes input. It allows for easy correction of mistakes, fallacies or inaccuracies-which is why malicious content is removed within a few hours of detection. Also controversial, disputed articles are flagged.
It is said that Wikipedia has fewer mistakes than the encyclopedia britannica

Because not one person controls the website there are several people who is keeping an eye on everything little things and the ones that are important

because everyone in the world writes wikipedia. Anyone can write an article on there but mods will delete if it isn't worth it

Anyone could have posted it (supposedly making Wikipedia look "cheap" and "tacky") so that means that anyone who was watching who had an internet connection could have done so within minutes.

Wikipedia is an extremely fast paced website with so many editors working on a single page alone, and there are millions of articles on Wikipedia. This does not shock me one bit.
My guess is that some people were already on Wikipedia and were trying to be the ones to put the important information down.
Some people find this fun, and some are too competitive about putting the info on Wikipedia.
Some are in a different time zone, and know things before hand.
Don't be discouraged, Wikipedia is like that all the time. They have to be up to date with all of information as soon as people hear it.

Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia. Thats why they call it 'Wikpedia the free encyclopedia' bacause anyone can type something on there. if you go on there and search something like Sacajawea, at the top of the page it will say ' Edit This Page' So maybe that is why. someone was probably sitting at their computer just waiting to post it.

a lot of ppl contribute to wikipedia. anyone can change it. that's why its not a very good source if you're using it for research.
