How often do you vandalise Wikipedia, and how long before the wikifiddlers notice?

if you have'nt checked wikipedia now records everyone's i.p. addy who visits the site. if you edit a file there and put false info in they will know you did it and there is also a blurb that they will prosecute and vandals to the fullest extent of the law. so if you don't want to end up spending some time in prison as bubba's girlfriend. you'll get a real life and turn your computer off and stay off of it.

Vandalizing is stupid. Find something better to do with your life.

Depends on what you mean by vandalism. If you believe that what is to one person the words of authority may be considered by another to be vandalism, pretty much the entire site consists of vandalism.

You mean you are telling me that you somehow find it fun to vandalize a bunch of informative pages online, that are made of text and pictures. Seriously, I think I speak for everyone when I say that has to be the stupidest question. You seriously need to get a life. I don't even think you should be allowed to access the web if you find joy in desecrating what others have worked hard on so that other people may learn from it. You really need to get a life.

Just troll if you wish to piss people off. Wikipedia is not the enemy, nor are it's readers. Do something that ensues interaction, or are you too much of a wimp to go ahead and do that?

First I must respond to the person that thinks their siblings might get a failing grade because of someone vandalizing a wikipedia page: It has been my experience as a student that teachers will tell students they are not allowed to use wikipedia as a source of information - not solely because of vandalism but because it's able to be edited by anyone at any time the information could be wrong on accident or biased.

In response to the actual question, I have never vandalized a Wikipedia page (though I've thought about it), however it usually depends on how popular the subject of the page you vandalize is. Could be half an hour, or a few months.

Ha i didnt no u could write stuff like that, i thought it was writtin by top wikki-ler writers or sumat. I'm glad that u have a sense of humor, judgein by the other comments i would say there about as fun as watchin grass grow ... lol

I did it once about two years ago and it took at least a week before the page was corrected. I'm not sure if thats typical though, and may have something to do with page poularity
