I think i might have a computer problem but im not sure?

since this morning, every time i do a search on yahoo, i can never get to the web page i ultimately want to get to. for example, when i typed in "Islanders wikipedia", the correct search results came up where the wikipedia page for the New York Islanders was the first result that I could click on. so i go and click on it and it doesnt take me to the wikipedia page where all the info would obviously be. instead, a blank white page comes up with only the button that says "continue" to click on. and in the address bar it says "results.yahoo.com" and then to top it off, when i click "continue" it still doesnt take me to the page. it'll take me to some advertisement page that makes no sense whatsoever. anybody have any clue what im talkin about? probably not.

you have spyware......download lavasoft's adaware and search and destroy spybot......unless you have an antispyware program already......those are both free and work well. use both. then if you do not have antivirus......buy one at a store or download free.....avast

Spyware! I hate when that happens. You should get antivirus software from somewhere. Currently I am using my brother's computer since mine is overrun by spyware - my antivirus protection software was outdated :-( Hopefully I can get the proper spyware protection soon and get about 12 different spyware types out of my computer! You might have to delete infected files though. My brother's computer has Avast! Antivirus, which works pretty well. You'll need software with Virus Scanning to figure out which files are infected.

It's not spyware. The exact thing happened to me before. What I did was uninstall Internet Explorer and got rid of every last trace of it. Then I did a system defragmentation and restarted my computer three times. When I got back to the desktop I let it sit for about 10 minutes, then I reinstalled Internet Explorer, PROBLEM SOLVED.

To do a system defragmentation: Start> My Computer> right click on drive (c:)> Properties> Tools> Defragment now...> Then click defragment at the bottom.

Guess that you must clean up spywares and viruses.
