Wikipedia--Do you like it?

Hello
Do you trust Wikipedia?
Does it gives you a most accurate and reliable information?
Share your opinion!!

Unfortunately, there are many erroneous articles which have been either typed wrong or vandalized. I have heard stories of entries classes failing homework papers because someone edited the information, like changing important dates.

For the most part though, it's a great way to get an idea of a topic you are interested in learning about. I would follow the links to actual websites if I wanted to rely on the information.

For example, if I want to see what a "Proxy" is, I can look it up on Wikipedia. If I want a better description, I can follow the links provided to other websites, or even forums where knowledgeable people have gone into detail on the topic of "Proxies" My $.02

It is an easy to use reference. I use it often for quick checks on facts, or for something I cannot remember.

I find it is accurate and reliable enough for daily use. If I were going to write an important report etc., I'd probably do some fact checking elsewhere.

In essence, to suggest that you do not trust Wikipedia would be to say you do not trust people. That you never accept anything you are told. Thats not practical, you merely need to assume that everything you are reading may not be entirely accurate. It is always best to cross reference information of importance with other sources.

It is a good source of information, but please also check other places...

Some of the information is accurate, but you need to use your wits. If you see something that sounds like it was written by a kid, it probably was.

Wikipedia is a source of information. I believe 99% of the details there are true, but of course the answers can be changed by any person that steps into the website. If the topic were of great importance, I'm sure someone intelligible checks it every so and then. For the most, wikipedia helps me out a lot.

yeah it helps me a lot with my H/W but some of the information are just .... mumbo-jumbo =b someone made it up I bet!

I like it a whole lot!!!

I adore Wikipedia. Information at it's best-well almost. You get to type in what your serching for and get great infomation with pictures included. Although let this be known, they do to much editing to the system on some of the pages. Enough editing is enough in my book. I rate Wiki at 8/10 for a free online thing.

Yes I do.
Some may be false stories.

I love Wikipedia. it is the best online encyclopedia available. And the information is pretty accurate. Must try. Just search anything you know enough on wikipedia and you will know whether you knew enough or there's more you did not know.

hi.
yup i trust wikipedia. i usually go there to search for celebrity info

I like it.

I go on there daily as Thundermaster367.

its free and i like using wiki but i don't trust anything on the web

well my teachers always tell us to use websites other than wikipedia to get information.anyone can write wikipedia you never know if any of it is true.like this one time my friend searched David Becham on wikipedia and all this info came, even his tattoos! How would anyone know about a celebs tattoos if it's not actually that celeb writing all that?So i don't trust wikipedia, it's open to all sorts of false statements

hello to you too
For the most part I trust wikipedia
depending what I am looking up I find the info reliable
I did a blog on Remembrance Day I have a few wikipedia websites down
Information on Christmas

Yes. Yes. Google apparently does too. Common sense helps alot.

Wikipedia is a great way to find info for reports, projects etc. BUT, people can change what the words say! My teacher told me this. I'm not sure why anyone would, but some people I assume like to mess around with websites. When I use wikipedia I always double check important information. Just be careful when you use this website.

yes, easy source for information, huge knowledge base and you can trust it. what more do you want?

yes i am on it almost all the time

I trust it and find it the most reliable online encyclopedia.

I think so it's very reliable I using for most of all my questions.Especially for my research papers.Even so the pages are made by real people and you don't have to worry about the info turning up to be fake.

I trust wikipedia more than most other sources, it almost always has reliable info. Without wikipedia I would die.
