What are any of the programs needed to write a Wikipedia entry?

You don't need anything. Once you open the edit page, you simply type your contribution.

basically, i think you need an account, then you also need to have some software and a VALiD REGISTERED ID!!! cause if not, it might not allow you to edit.

however, if you tried to edit some VERY erm... topics like GLOBALISATIONor POLLUTION type of things, you need to be registered under some companies as a back up for you.

other than that, it shouldnt be a problem. to edit an article if it is not a serious term

You do not need ANY programs to create a Wikipedia entry.

All you need are a user account at Wikipedia and your brain. Note, however, that if the community does not find your article suitable for inclusion, it may be deleted.

You can do that easily. If the page exists at wikipedia already, go to it and click "edit this page". Otherwise, click "create this page". Now you can type as you wish :)
