Can you trust the authenticity of anything you read on Wikipedia? |
whats the point of it? Wikipedia is essentially trustworthy for any information that you need. It is not a citation-worthy reference, but as a tool it is very good. no .as it says it is only a guide. Simply: no. But usually it's good enough. People are keeping it reasonably up-to-date most of the time. However, I did read that the Huang River was in Adam Sandlers Belly Button, so... The articles on wikipedia are written & edited by the general public. A lot of the stuff is usually pretty good but if you want hard facts look elsewhere! you can trust something but not anything Yes, of course. There is an old saying:- Wiki is about as much use as the proverbial chocolate teapot - in fact the tea pot is more trustworthy ! ! ! no u can't anyone can edit it so just use it as a guide. and definetly don't use it for any business ventures or ideas. the only articles that are good are the ones that have a little padlock in the top right corne not really bc anyone who has a wikipedia account can change or put anything on it. I might as well be the only person too try and defend Wikipedia, so here goes. You cannot trust the reliability of anything on the internet; Wikipedia is especially bad because people can edit it over and over. No, considering anyone can go on the website and change the text at anytime. That depends on what you are reading about. If the article is about something that some people will probably have different opinions about (like a movie), there might be some bias mixed in with the info. If the article's about history or past events that is mostly common knowledge (like "Susan B. Anthony is on the siver dollar") than most of the info will more likely be true.
