It's illegal to create a wikipedia page to personally promote a person, product or place. If you are popular enough, other people will create a wikipedia page for you. You do not need to ask others.

Yes, someone can make you a Wikipedia page, but not me. Maybe you can make it yourself, if you weren't that lazy.

But it will get deleted by the administrators, who don't like self-promotional stuff. By the way, it shows you don't know about the inner workings of Wikipedia. And, no, it's not illegal to add such a page, since Wikipedia's rules are not the law, as Wikipedia nutters believe. They just distort the usual meanings of terms such as "illegal" and "vandalism".

You can add the page, but it will get deleted in accordance with Wikipedia's own rules.

The best way to get yourself on wikipedia would be to go to the category that you think you belong in. Once there, post an item in the discussion section being open, upfront and honest about why you belong on Wikipedia.

Keep in mind that one of their basic requirements is that you have had some decent press outside of simple press releases and links on the web. If you cannot prove that you have enjoyed any of these, they will most likely not put you on.

But if you are "noteworthy", then one of the volunteers will probably put a page up for you. You cannot do it, as others have said, because it will be quickly deleted. You need someone with some authority on Wikipedia to do it for you, as seasoned Wiki users are and as moderators are.

Sorry it's not easier, but they are trying to be as neutral and "encylopedia-ish" as possible. If you are just trying to advertise something, you will have very little luck.

Have you ever read the Notability policy? In all likelihood you don't meet the requirements to have an article on Wikipedia (if you did, you'd be well-known enough that you wouldn't have to write an article about yourself or ask others to do it for you).

Wikipedia doesn't exist for you to advertise yourself. It's designed as a source of knowledge for everyone and why you think you should have your own page is beyond me.

By all means, make your own page. It won't last more than half an hour.
