Why won't yahoo let me use wikipedia for reference?

by reference, I mean as a source, when I try to add the link, yahoo rejects it.

I believe SVOMAN was referring to YA not allowing him to place Wikipedia links in his answers and sourse sections. I've had the same issue with both Wikipedia and with Youtube. Personally, I think if alot of links are posted in a certain section on YA, they temporarily block posting links from certain websites, like the two mentioned above.

wikipedia's not a "true" reference site. as anybody can put any information they want on any subject into that site and it will reside there until it's caught & proven false.

I'm not sure how mean 'for reference'. If you mean listing it as a source in Yahoo! Answers, I have no clue. If it's something specfic that requires a source, Wikipedia should generally not be used for reference as the is an open-content website that is user-maintianed, and is considered unreliable (even in Wikipedia's terms)

It is not a good resource to use because it is made by random people and it can be completely and utterly wrong. (even though I trust wiki, most of the times)

Maybe Yahoo and Wiki are having a little spat?

Since people can edit Wikipedia themselves, it's not a good reference.

I've never had trouble with it. Go figure.

I was always able to use it as a source.
