Can I put myself up on Wikipedia?

Can I put myself up on Wikipedia?

If you are in the entertainment industry, whether famous or not, you should be able to put yourself up on Wikipedia. If you are looking for a profile, they won't allow regular profiles of users on their website.

Why not?

No, that's against their rules.

You can, but it will get deleted. If you make an account for wikipedia, you can make a user page.

Sure you can! But surely the elitist wannabe have-nothing-to-do-on-the- weekend historians will realize that if you are not noteworthy they will delete any entries with your name on it. So, before you decide to post your life story on Wikipedia for everyone else to see and then have it disappear, make sure you can prove your contributions to science, the mathematics, politics, or take responsibility for the three buried bodies you put in your backyard.

Yeah there's a way... Get famous/infamous or die trying... ;-)

Maybe you could get someone to put you on Wikipedia, have them write the article/posting about you.

I would say, its worth the try, and you're not writing it about yourself.

why not

I don't think so. I think you have to be famous.

It'll get A-sploded.

Try, but they will delete it. Its against the rules. you are a nobody

sure- make yourself sound important though- why would you want to waste your time doing that- youre going to be the only person going to the page

seriously, unless you do something important no one will really care what you have to say about yourself.

If you are notable, meaning that you have gained a considerable amount of recognition and facts about you can be referenced from various sources, then you probably merit an article.

If you're not notable, feel free to make an article, but it'll be deleted or redirected to your userpage in a hurry.

doesn't meet with thier conflicts of interest policy, no, you can't

its against the rules but if you are notable i suppose, people edit there own pages sometimes and as long as they stay non point of view and follow the rules its accepted they just cant start the page about themselves

eat a truckload of big macs and you'll do

No. Only famous people.

for that u have to be famous
