Anyone else have a bad experience with Wikipedia?

I edited a couple articles, and some of my comments were deleted. Not because they were bad comments. They were awesome comments. But because I needed "sources" even though the source was ME and I know what I'm talking about.

I will close my account with Wikipedia if I can. I won't bother with that site anymore.

The reason why your comments were deleted was the WP administrators are real big about not allowing "original research". They only want info that's been published somewhere else first. Unfortunately, that means that good information often gets removed.

Yes, I've run into trouble when trying to edit articles as well. When I created an account & began trying to fix some information I KNEW was false, I was blocked by another user whom seemingly "controlled" or "owned" the article, & was denied somehow by him from editing it. I was pissed beyond all belief that he was able to do that, especially because he was so inaccurate.

I don't use Wikipedia any longer either.

My only bad experience with Wikipedia has been as a user. I was doing a paper and looked at Wikipedia (although I defintely wouldn't use them as a source since most professors hate Wikipedia) and found an error in the article. I checked the sources for the article and found the same error. The source was basically plagarized into the article as well. It basically proved that my professors are right and Wikipedia isn't 100% reliable. It is occasionally handy though.
