Sudden lost of disk space and screensaver can't run at all. What's actually happening? How can I resolve this? |
I have been using Window Vista Home edition for some time and it works perfectly fine untill three days ago, when my disk space suddenly went missing. I had 160gb harddisk and had been maintaining my memory space at 90 to 100gb free but three days ago, my programs were running surprisingly slowly and I had a check on my memory space. It said that I had only 30gb worth of disk space left. What is actually happening? Where has all my diskspace gone? I tried deleting my files and programs but the mass amount of diskspace couldn't be retrieved. 1) screen saver, it means that it requires a video card that can support direct3D. not all video cards have this, it is not a big deal as long as you it doesnt affect your work. direct 3D support are usuallt available to other better video cards used for gaming and hi-graphics work. The missing hard drive space has to do with Vista automatically creating restore points of your files. To get rid of this, you need to delete existing shadow copies and change the setting so that Vista no longer creates them automatically. I had this too - I went from 25 GB free to 100 MB free.
