Hi i'm just about to get the new 15 inch mac book pro the 拢1299 one.?

I was wondering if someone could give me a few decent reason, of why Leopard is better than vista, and please no it is answers. I have always been a windows user and plan to switch over now, however I plan to install vista using bootcamp anyway, as I never had any problems with it and found both aero and the UAC useful and fantastic designs. The main reason I'm getting a mac is because of the hype around them, but I was wondering what kinda of things are so much better, what can I do now that I can't before?
Also will I find any limitations using windows on bootcamp, can I install windows applications on it using CDs so I don't have to repurcahse games more importantly?
What are these new touch guestures? I have an ipod touch, are they similar to that?
Also any other information you have on them would be great.

Thanks in advance :D

i bought a macbook in jan. this year. i love os x, before then i had only used dos and windows :-P i still use windows vista via vmware sometimes when i need to, or bootcamp when i'm running my CAD applications for school. mac osx is a freaking nice interface i love it.

it's so easy to install stuff on a mac, as most programs are self contained, like they don't have registry files, and most run as just a single executable.

many of my major windows programs run on mac too, like firefox, this made the transition so much easier. i still prefere office 2007 to office 2008 though but that's no big deal. i have a shared itunes library too :-) very nice. check out the instructions for that on http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?s...

no problems with cd's or anything in windows either. the only limitation is there is no tap click, but the two finger right click is awesome so that's no problem at least :-D

btw, the big reason i got a mac instead of a pc laptop was that macs are build more solid, and i expect this one to last longer. i like the slot cd rom drive and the mag power adapter and so many other things. the fact that osx turned out to be super usable was jsut a plus :-)

You can get a good amount of info in the 300 new features of Leopard from here:

http://www.apple.com/macosx/

Your Mac also won't be plagued with viruses:

http://www.apple.com/getamac/viruses.htm...

That is a very detailed question I am sorry but I cannot help

Firstly I'll state I'm neither for or against Macs and that my answer will ignore huge chunks of your questions.

Next I'll state that Macs are expensive and unless you have money to burn or know you need features that Macs do well (image/video editing for example) then I would just stick with a PC and Vista. How Apple can get away with charging so much for what is now essentially PC hardware is astounding. You could get such an awesome laptop with Vista with that budget.

Apple do make sexy designs, but hey I'm practical person and have no use for a Mac. My iPod is a different story of course :D

I had a mac and they dont last that long you are better off getting a acer

Your going to buy a laptop at nearly 拢1300 and your main reason for buying it is the hype about it. I wish I had your money, but seriously go to a apple store and ask for a play. Ask a friend who has a mac about it (the problem will be getting them to shut up about it). Consider why you are buying it then think again. Macs are fine bits of kit but overpriced and at the end of the day are no more reliable than your everyday PC. Yes its true there are no live virus attacks for macs but the same applies to Linux and its free.
