How do I wipe out my entire computer and use the recovery cds that came with my cd to do a fresh install of XP

Can someone walk me through how to completely wipe out my computer. I have the Acer disks that came with my computer but they won't work unless I do this. Yes, I have backed up all my files etc. I just reinstalled Windows with my mother in laws cd and used my product key that I had from my Acer disks but they aren't compatible so I need to reinstall again (microsoft says it isn't a valid key when I try and register online). Please see my previous question for clarification. Thanks!

Read The Friendly Manual (RTFM) for your PC and look in the Table of Contents for a relevant topic. Then, follow ALL the installation instructions, maintenance procedures and 鈥淗ow To's鈥?to the letter.

To reset your PC to 鈥淔actory Specs鈥?with a fresh version of Windows, look for 鈥淩e-install Windows / Recovery Disks / Recovery Procedures鈥? or something similar in the User Manual.

TIP: Make sure your PC is set to "Boot from CD" first, also in the manual.

just restart the computer and pop up the CD's..
it sud detect the CD's and boot from them..
formattin ur system and giving u a fresh install..
