Free music download?

well...

i am doing the speech about free music downloading..

and i am going against it.

I need three reasons why free music downloading is wrong.

i've only got 2.

1. it is illegal

2. it causes revnue loss of artists.

can u give me another reason why it's wrong?

also, can u give me some examples to back up all three

reasons??

you named the two major ones. i feel there is two sides to this..how smaller artist benefit and the impact to major label artist because artists on a major label who spend thousands of dollars to record and market are loosing money along with everyone who is part of their value chain. The business model of the major label is the problem because they can no longer make money revenue (or the revenues of past years) selling records. There is also one key point is that the revenue the artist makes for a sale of a record is about $2 so...in reality, the artists is better off getting their music out to as many people as possible and then making the money on merch and concert tickets where they can negotiate the price to play. it takes the label out of the mix.

i have to say that i see more benefit to making music accessible for the artist than the issues with downloading. people can't like what they don't hear so hearing the music is the first step that could be later turned into future earnings and a fanbase that nobody can take a way ultimately putting the artist in a better position for future negotiations.

It's wrong because it will cause marketing price to go down and stuff.

There are some music available for free download that artists would like to get out in the open.

I've downloaded a few and they became popular in later years.

But illegal downloading is a different story. You're teaching that it's okay to steal as long as no one is getting "hurt" but you don't actually see who's on the receiving line.

funny im doing a speech for it lol.... but it also can cause users to download spyware and virrii... illegal because its stealing, it causes vevnue losses for artist because people arent willing to pay for the songs

its illegal because the artists worked very hard on the work they did, and once you download them, every time there loosing money. because it costs them over 2 million dollars, to publish all those albums, and every single time that some one downloads one song, they keep on loosing money, because no one is buying it.
because they thought they would gain money from selling them.

its wrong, because think of all the hard work they did. and now people arent giviing them anything back for what they did.
