DO I TRUST LIMEWIRE? will i get viruses etc?

i use to use limewire a lot until i did some online research on it, i have nothing good about it. everybody i have talked to say it is a very very hi virus risk. in limewire you are sharing files from other peoples computers, so if there files are infected you will be infected. it's like drinking after a stranger, if they are sick so will you be. a friend of mine works in computers and he said he would not even install it in his computer, also, a guy from roadrunner said it is one of the worst programs you can have on your pc. if you are determined to have it anyways make sure you have an up to date anti virus program running, good luck.

well limewire is a good software do download songs but yea there will be virus's in there but u wont get it until u download it and open it! =]

Slimewire gives you warts.

No limewire is rubbish and will destroy ur pc causing it to implode and destroy everything electrical in ur whole house.

If the file looks real, then it should be safe, but there are a few viruses around, but much less then a lot of p2ps, like kazaa which is full of them

I use Limewire for music and movies for years, and so far so good, no virus.
But beware of .EXE type of application file, and also make sure you scan it with antivirus before open it.

If you use good anti-virus software its fine. BUT you should know that people have started to be fined for illegal downloading.. I know someone what got fined 拢500. So be careful.

Limewire is a peer-to-peer client. The programme itself wont cause virus to your com. The com would only be infected by a virus when u choose to download a file which contain a virus from another user using limwire.

It depends on your Virus Software and also if you have a Mac or PC. In my experience it slows down computers. You don't always know what your going to get when you download something. Sometimes porn or a broken movie or song, or software that doesn't work. When I use limewire I run it from my External Hard Drive.

limewire in its self wont give you a virus its the content that you download that gives you viruses, if your careful then you shouldnt get a virus, I have been using limewire for years and never got a virus to date :)

Yes you can get virus from using limewire so if your thinking of getting it be careful Make sure you scan everything before opening the file for any virus good luck.

I have the Limewire program and what I did to be able filter out any possible virus before I played the songs, etc. was I had my downloads sent to a shared folder once it was done downloading. Before I opened anything in the shared folder, I run a virus check through my anti-virus program (I currently have AVG) and if it finds any virus in the folder I can delete it before I open it. I run the virus scan on the whole folder after every downloading session. After the virus scan comes back clean I listen to the whatever I downloaded and then I move it to whatever folder I want to on my computer. I have never gotten on a virus on my computer using Limewire since I scan it all before I do anything with it. Hope that helps.

Remember you are not downloading anything from lime wire. Lime wire is only a program to allow you to download from other peoples computers. Lime wire has no idea what is in the download. Also remember there are people out there that delight in messing up your computer. Be sure that your computer has the proper security and even then it is risky.
