Ubuntu 7.10, upgrading Compiz Fision from v. 0.6.0 to v. 0.6.9?

Ubuntu 7.10 comes shipped with Compiz Fusion v. 0.6.0, I want to know if there is a way to upgrade to v. 0.6.9 as it has loads more plugins included.

I have tried the Synaptic Package Manager, and Update Manager, without success.

I just compiled the latest version of compiz-fusion. All it did was make my system extremely unstable. Maybe you'll have better luck, but it'd probably be best to just wait a month until the final version of Hardy is released

Hi, u can't do that in Ubuntu without compiling compiz fusion your self.

The problem is that Ubuntu doesn't upgrade software packages till the next release, neither r the drivers updated.

I am running the latest version of compiz on suse and its awesome they fixed the bug, u know how in 3d windows the windows would break on the cube edges, it doesn't happen anymore. Plus yeah there r many new plugins, u could compile the plugins yourself if u like.

Also there should be a how to on the ubuntuforums to install compiz fusion from the GIT repositories.
