How do I create different backgrounds in the same powerpoint slideshow?

When I do the first background design it's fine, but when I try to do different ones later, it changes all of the previous ones to the new one. How do I change backgrounds just for the slide I'm working on?

Using a template in Powerpoint, if you make changes and using and applying a template, it will effect to global and make changes to all your slides.

But if you need to apply a different template to selected slides, right click on the template from "apply a design template" and click "Apply to Selected Slides".

It will then applied only to your selection.
