Why is iTunes taking forever to purchase a song?

I just hit "buy song" and it just says "Purchasing ______" at the top and its been doing that for at least 6 minutes now and I'm afraid if i click anything or do anything i will waste my money and not get the song! What should I do?

By the way...I am running iTunes on my iMac.

either the server on their end or your internet connection is lagging.

edit: kudos on the mac btw.....you can force quit itunes and reopen it and then go into your account and it should show up in the pending downloads(it will be a message when you open your account page). as long as it has not started anyway. if it has started to dl i honestly don't know, if it will be a pending dl. sorry i couldn't be more help

because it is a mac program and i am assuming you are running it on a windows computer. that is why i dont even waste my time paying anymore cause they rip you off. just get limewire.
