What is the best Linux variant for watching AVI (and other) media files, bluray/DVDs and TV (possible HDTV)?

I want to set up a Media Center PC using Linux. What distro is the most complete/advanced and easy to use?

I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but take a look at MythTV. I know a few people who use it as a PVR and are very happy with it.
