Video editing-can you lighten the picture? adobe or sony vegas or?

With digital still pictures its easy to lighten a picture that is too dark. Can you do thei with videos?? I have Adobe premire elements and Sony Vegas Pro 8 or could get another program.

Yes. I use Pinnacle Studio and it has a number of options for brightness adjustments, color correction, and effects like solarization and embossing. It even allows for third-party plugins. The other programs should have similar capabilities.
