Iso Files and Regional codes? |
I was wondering: If you make a DVD an ISO file to mount it on some virtual DVD drive of yours, does the ISO still have a regional code? Can you change the regional code of a virtual drive or do they just "take" the regional code from the "real" DVD-ROM in your computer? I'm trying to "save" my old Beauty & the Beast DVD until Disney will sell new ones. It's from 2002 and has already some scratches, thanks to the kids and you can't buy a new one, so I'm making a ISO file from it. Problem is, I bought my laptop in Europe and they have reg code 2 there, so I'm wondering if I put that ISO onto my laptop, will I still be able to play it, despite it being a reg 2 laptop? (And don't tell me to mess up with the DVDRom on my laptop - it's not working.) generally to make an ISO file of a DVD thats region encoded you will probably need a de-coding program that will bi-pass the copy protection of the DVD. These programs also remove all region encoding if you so choose depending on which one of these applications you get. |
