What media players support rar files?

Well .rar files are not media files... so it will not be opened by any media player...

They are zipped or compressed files.. tu unzip u have to use winRAR which can unzip the files and u can then extract or play those unzipped files....

Rar files are zipped files. Winzip doesn't open them as far as I remember. Try downloading WinRar.

None (OK, not entirely true, but see below).

RAR is a generic archiving and compression format, not a media format.

You might find a media file inside the archive when you extract it with a tool such as 7-zip or WinRAR, but you can't play it directly.

Having said that, some media players will extract from RAR on the fly, but the only software I've seen which does that is XBMC (media centre software which runs on hacked Xbox classic boxes).

rar files are compressed files, not media files. so i guess no media player supports these rar files.

RAR files are archive files, like zipped files, not zipped files themselves. .zip is a proprietary format. You're quite correct about WinRAR and there are several other free versions from places like download.com.

RAR files are essentially boxes. As in real life you have to open these boxes and take out whats inside (on computer extract to a folder) to use it.
