How do you format into french in Word? (i have vista)?

i need to do this because i want the spelling check to be in french. i can go to spell check and change it to french, but it constantly changes back to english after 1 word. its annoying.

please help.

I'm not familiar with Word Vista, but in Word XP (2002), on the Tools->Language->Set Language menu item dialog box, there's a Default button that I think sets the selected language as the default.

There's also a Detect Language Automatically check box.

Hope that helps.
