How do I disable DVDPlay?

I'm on Windows Vista Home Basic and when I stick in a DVD.. DVDPlay always pop up as if it's my default when I just want to go to VLC that doesn't slow down my computer.. So I always have to go to Task Manager and close the program because it doesn't respond.

What do I do to disable DVD Play as my default? Gimme step by step instructions or a direct link to an article or blog entry that gives me the instructions.. If you just say like.. "go to start and click dvdinformationblahblah" and don't tell me what to do, your answer = not best answer

Go to My Computer then go to your dvd playing drive and click auto play then deselect the autoplay function and click take no action or just click on the one you want to play with and hit ok.

Click on start then click on My Computer. Right click over your DVD Drive and choose Properties. Now click on the second tab Autoplay. In the drop down box choose DVD Movie then beneath it in the actions box choose Select an action to perform. Then choose the last option Take no action. Choose OK and your good to go.
