Windows 98 DISK?

ok well here goes lol

I recently dug out me old win 98 computer and started clearing it out. I un-installed a few programs and rebooted windows but everytime i reboot i get cannot find vnetsup.vxd vredir.vxd and dfs.vxd

i was thinking of getting a win 98 disk and fixing it that way is there i can get a legal copy??

Or anyone have any better idea????

These files are part of Client for Microsoft Networks.

You could probably get away with removing Client for Microsoft Networks, assuming you don't use any network cards or use it for network connectivity.

The only problem is that you might need the Windows 98 disk in order to remove this component.

As someone else stated, you should be able to get a Win 98 disk from Ebay. Insert the CD and then run the setup.exe program. The setup willl do an over the top install (repair) of your existing Windows 98 installation.

If you are able to find these files from another location, such as the Internet, then you can transfer them manually to the following location:

c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\

This issue is quite a common issue with Windows 98.

Some websites have drivers available for download. You can look there first.

If you use your own registration code when installing windows then your are legal.

Best shot is make sure your product key is still read able on the side of the pc and take it into a shop
