Program problem?


I have installed a program and it stops working. When i try to repair it, Error 1720 appears and then a fatal error message. What do i do?

1) If you reinstall the program and and then uninstall. There are time when the original installation is corrupt and you are unable to uninstall the software.

2) Or you can go to start, search and type in the name of the software program. Allow your PC, to search for the software. When the files are found, delete them from the top to the bottom. (If a file you try to delete says "being used by another file), reboot and go back to search, type in the name of the software and usually you will be able to delete the file.

3) There is free software that will delete a "write protected", file. http://www.download3k.com/Delete-Doctor/...

4) You can to your tray, run, type in: c://program files, click on browse, click on program files and look for the name of the file that is corrupt. Delete the file. If will not delete reboot and try again. Worse comes to worse below is a free program that I use also, will delete any write protect file or file in use.

After you have down all of the above reinstall the program as error 1720 is an Windows installation problem

What program?
Did your installation REALLY complete successfully?
Did it EVER work after the "installation"?

Did you ever google "error 1720" ???
Did you ever check it out at Microsoft?

Every site I found indicated that error 1720 was a Windows Installation error where one component for the Windows Installation was not found and the installation failed to complete.

First... try uninstalling your program
Second... try reinstalling your program

If you still have a problem, come back here and put adequate information so we can try to duplicate what you did and see what happened and were in the installation or running the program the problems occurred.
