Is Windows XP SP3 Out Or What?

People are posting questions about SP3 for XP, however I can't find it anywhere, all I can find is a candidate version or something :S And I don't want to download a BETA. When is this coming out? And will it be free for Windows SP2 Users?

Officially, no it is not yet released.

Unofficially, yes it is. It's available to manufacturers, university network admins, and other testers. It was still in beta but I think recently it was finalized but just awaiting an offical release.

Its also available through torrents, although I wouldn't recommend it.

All service packs are free if you purchased the Operating System legally.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) is currently in development. As of January 2008, Microsoft's web site indicates a "preliminary" release date to be in the first half of 2008.

i downloaded it a few weeks ago direct from microsoft and assumed it was released.
