How i can i compress the 8gb of data to 4.5gb pls tell me is it possible through winrar if so them how to do??

ACTUALLY iam running out of space i need to copy my 8gb fedora dvd to system for backup only 5gb left to my software drive

Well, it may not be possible. The Fedora DVD is already compressed and may not be able to compress it much further. But you can try. WinRar has different options in it that you can chose the compression method. You want the option that says 'Best'. It may take a long time, but it may save some space. another thing you can do is try WinAce. Sometimes it can compress things better. Just chose the best compression method as well.

Hope it helps, but i doubt that you will be able to squeeze 8 gb into 4.5 gb, since it is already compress some to begin with.

I don't think that's possible, read up on the tarball gunzip compression method, it's like twice the compression. Probably the best you'll get. BTW clean out your drive to make space.
