u would prolly want to run it off a live CD

You would need a virtual machine to install it on, you can create one using software such as VMWare ( from http://vmware.com/ ).

you can only install ubuntu inside windows by using something like virtualPc, but if you want to install it to your hard drive youll simply have to boot from the cd -
