Can't log in.. tried everything..?

Okay well my computer just all of a suddenly shut down and then i restarted it and it seemed alright until it said that the system 32 autochk was not found and then it went to the log in screen... i type in my password and it logged in but with 3 seconds it goes back out to the login screen saying saving your settings and it just goes to your log in menu .. so i tried again and it didnt work so i restarted it and tried again but it still didnt work and then i tried the windows safe mode admin and my own account and they both did the same thing is there any way i can fix this?? Please help

There is a few things you can try:

1) Restart and go into safe mode (press F8 as soon as the Windows Splash Screen Starts) see if you can log in like that.

2) If 1 didn't work, try logging in under your administrator account, if you can get in then, your user profile is corrupted and you just need to recreate it.

3) If 1 and 2 doesn't work, put in your windows CD and run a repair on Windows. You might have pooched your OS, a repair will probably fix the problem.

im thinking someone or something may have deleted your files or messed with the registry,
or maybe you hard drive is defective
it ciould be a number of things

The error ull be getting wil be something like this "Windows failed to retrieve your user account preferences" windows will log off now.


there is a file in system folder that keeps track of all the user settings, may be this file is corrupt,

try reinstalling windows, since this s a small problem, u can perform repair using windows installation disk
