*AX SOFT>>>Software

Hi guys, could someone be able to tell me the difference between......?

Windows Xp SP2 and Windows Vista Home Please???
From what I have heard windows XP SP2 is a lot better than Vista.....True or false? Thanks GuysXXX

Go Vista. Didn't mean to confuse you, but technology over the years has been growing leaps and bounds.

MS is not going to sit quietly and take this bashing and Vista does not deserve all that bashing it gets from untrained amateurs.

I have V.Ultimate. The best os I ever came across. When sp1 comes out, it will automatically upgrade. I am not concerned. I like it's features and the way it operates smoothly.

Go Vista just blindly. You will thank yourself for it. You can thank me later.

go for XP that most software cannot be used on vista . and some of my friends agree with me Report It

I think vista just broke the rule that says 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

True for now, Vista has a lot of bugs, and hardware not supported, hopefully sp1 can fix all that. XP is a lot better between the two in my opinion....

vista runs on a 64 bit system, more for videos movies, pretty much streaming, but if you dont want to spend a bunch of money on this i would use XP, i think its more stable better and doesnt take as much to run, thus you dont have to get 4 gigs of RAM if you dont want it just an example. although i run xp pro and have the max of everything and everything OC.

LOL ok look you are comparing TWO DIFFERNET operating systems

Windows XP SP2 stands for Service Pack 2... every year or so microsoft will release a big update to their operating system which they call service packs..Windows xp SP2 is just windows xp that is current on updates..

For example there is windows vista out right now, which is the new operating system. In the next few months they will have Windows Vista SP1, which basically fixes security issues, as well as performance issues.

If you are trying to decide which ones you want, get Vista because it will be updated within a few months and run fine. .Best buy has a sale on their website right now for 99 dollars you can get Vista home Premium.. just make sure you print it out and bring it in because the store price still says 160!

smart money is waiting a few years yet and using XP which is sound as far as I know.

IMO it depends on what you want to do with it really; if you're happy with xps2 then stick with that, vista is more user friendly with some very slick front end applications but in some ways the constant questions ('Are you sure you want to install this?........Are you sure that you're sure that you want to install this?') can get annoying.

But if you buy a new pre built system/laptop its going to come with vista installed, simple as that really - I think we all are going to have to live with it.

I do seem to remember similar gripes when xp replaced 98 though!

My honest opinion is that i like the no thrills aspect of Xp Pro sp2, also know it's secure and as for hardware you know your supported, then there's the Vista bloat syndrome too large and a major system hog, i dual boot Xp Pro and Vista Ultimate, my default os being Xp Pro.

There will be a day that Vista is the operating system we all deserve just not @ moment, XP sp3 due this year, Vista still a long way to go before the compatabillity issues resolved, that many of us have encountered. Know sp1 now available, but it's not going to deal with most of it's problems. When Vista becomes standard in the work place, business, schools etc, is when we know we all have what we want.

Vista is supposed to perform better than older version XP otherwise MS invested a lot on the project just for nothing. But in reality, it is totally user-specific. Without hardware updating, I prefer XP to Vista.

hell yeah much better , good luck with it xxx

I use XP Pro SP2 and, personally, after using Vista i wouldn't use it again until it gets a complete revamp so it actually WORKS with hardware and software.

I know the Vista SP1 is out / or is imminent .. i'd still be rather skeptical that this would solve the massive problem relating to hardware and software, thats why most manufacturers had to make Vista specific drivers due to the chaos.

XP was buggy for years until sp2 came out.

I haven't met anyone yet that hasn't had serious problems with Vista. A lot of software that was designed for XP just won't run on vista although it is supposed to.

Once Vista irons out the problems it will be far more advanced but as usual Microsoft release what is really a beta and let the users find the problems!

I would stick with XP for the time being.
