Having a bit of computer problems? |
i found some old computer games like wolfenstien and duke nukem and i want to play them on my laptop but im having problems getting them started i get them started up and i get the following message c:/windows/system32/cmd.exe program doesnt support fullscreen mode choose close to terminate program. and i cant seem to find a way to make the game in a window not full screen. any ideas on what i can do. You could try opening them in Windows compatability mode, such as in '98 / 2000. Right click on the programme, go to properties > compatability > Run in comp.... they are very old your laptop doesnt have a good graphics card therfore wont support the game. Consider reinstalling your games, or getting rid of them if they're too old. Are these MS DOS games? If so, You'll need to DL MS DOS. Most of the really old games were DOS based. you need to buy a new graphics card- your current one wont support the graphics in your game old games are for lower resolution pc. try to adjust you resolution to 800x600. you are probably using vista, vista does not support dos games... so you cannot play the game using just vista Some of the really old games will not play on updated operating systems. Try this. Some, if not most, old games will not function properly under modern operating systems like you're experiencing or will function too fast as they were designed in a time when computers were much slower. Being a nostalgic gamer I've found most old games will work with DOSBox, a similation of an the old x86 dos systems. This will allow it to open in a window. |
