How do you format a computer?

i want my computer to come to its default form

i dont have a cd..can i do it without a cd?? and my computer is a hp compaq 6715b..

insert the OS install CD and reboot from the CD and follow the screens...there will be an option to reformat on the install

Need more information...what brand, do you have the install disks (windows/drivers)

You would be better off using System Restore,,,,
you can restore it to the day you got it,,,,,,

if someone else wants to list every step of the way you install
an operating system and your motherboard drivers,,,,,
more power to them,,,,,,,,,,

If you do what post 1 said you will have problems,,,,
it is more complicated then what he said,,,,it does not walk you through it,,you have to know what to do and when,,,

WITHOUT A CD USE SYSTEM RESTORE
START--PROGRAMS--ACCESSORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS--
--SYSTEM RESTORE

it does not matter what laptop you have it matters what OS
you have,,,,,,,
