How do I subtract 3% in excel?

Like $1.08-3%

=sum(1.08*0.97)

$1.08-(1.08*.03)

3% in mathematics such as dollar amounts will always have a decimal... 3% is 0.03...first find 3% of $1.08,then subtract the amount from $1.08..
50% of $1.08 is .54..
25% of .$1.08 is .27..
and so on

should work for you
