What doesn microsoft outlook do?

what's it do? should I use it?

I don't know anything about it, help!

Personally, I'd avoid it as much as possible in favour of Thunderbird or Mail.app and iCal.

It's an email client. It sends and receives email, archives it, has a built-in calender and appointments feature.

outlook (AKA lookout) is a email, calendar, etc application. it's not really that bad but there are others that do the job better as the previous poster said thunderbird is a good email client, not sure about the others since i don't use them.
