Linux Help...... Please.....?

I installed Dreamlinux @ boot up i get this:
co/dev/hda8/dev/hda8 is mounted
e2fsk
e2fsk: cannot continue aborting
fsk died with exit status 8
file system check failed
a log is being csaved in /var/log/fsck/checkfs if that location is writeable
please repair file system manually
a maintenance shell will now be stated
Control-D will terminate this shell and resume system boot
give root password for maintenance
give root password for maintenance (or type Control-D to continue)

Well i do Contol-d and it boots the reason for this i think is because i formated the swap as Linux swap 2 the boot is formated Linux EX3 anyway if i format the swap disk and boot can i reinstall and the grub will stay same any help would be much apreciated.

Do you think this will sort it if i reformat the swap disk with paragon partitioner to Linux Ext 3?

Try PCLinuxOS first.

Once you get comfortable with Linux, you can choose and use as many as you want. By then you will know how to switch or just keep adding more. Or come back and ask for more advice.

Exit Status 8 means that there was an operational error with e2fsck. That could mean there was a problem with your installation of e2fsck. I would reinstall Dreamlinux, and I would try to make the root directory, assuming that is what /dev/hda8 is, ext3 just to avoid confusing everybody.

I think it won't run if you format the swap partition as ext2/3.
