Iso image problem?

im having problems trying to burn a iso file to dvd r.
i have tryed nero 7 premium, dvd santa and iso burner but nothings working it is 7.85 GB
could anyone tell me any other program that i could try and will work with windows vista
thank you

i was hoping to burn it onto 2 dvd-/+r

Well by the sounds of it you are probably burning the ISO right, you probably have one of two problems:

1) the image(ISO) is 7.85GB, and it is too big for a standard DVD-R, you need a dual layer DVD-R and you need to make sure your DVD burner can support dual layer disks(not all can). DVD-R can only hold 4.7GB, dual layer can support 8.5GB

2) it could be a bad image , try opening the image with Daemon Tools to check if it is good or bad

UPDATE: if you want to burn it to two DVD's you will need to split the ISO, download Daemon Tools, you can find it at download.com

Once you install Daemon Tools you can mount the ISO and it will appear to the computer as a virtual DVD-rom. Since it looks like a DVD-rom you can access the files in My Computer. Copy the entire ISO's content to your hard drive and manually split the ISO into two folders, you will then be able to burn the content of each folder as a data DVD inside Nero. If this ISO is a install DVD or a bootable DVD you may have problems putting it onto two DVD's when it was meant for one. If the ISO is pure data then you will have no problems splitting the image.

works great.

MagicISO is a great program but the trial version doesn't burn over 4 gigs but you could check out rapidshare for the full version.

how do you think your burning a 7.85gb file onto a dvd ???

dvd's only hold 4 gig unless it's a dual layer

and a 7.85gig ISO ?? i don't freaking think so ..

Are you using a dual-layer DVD and a burner capable of burning them? Most DVDs are only 4.7 GB. To get more on it, you need to use dual-layer discs.

Nero works fine, what's the problem? I think 7.85GB is too big for a DVD which is 4.7GB. You need to make sure you have a burner and DVD which will do DUAL LAYER recording. You have a Dual Layer DVD in there?

I use Ubuntu linux, and that burns everything for me, no problems, and you can download and burn that to a CD. I'd give it a try if you have any more crap from Windows software. With Ubuntu, the chances are when you have an error, it will give you a message in English which you will understand and not need to ask questions in YAnswers
