Does McAfee scan music downloads before you download them?

I want to download music from like Limewire or something of the sort. I heard that the music from limewire can give you viruses. I want to download music without the viruses so does McAfee automatically scan the files or can you make it scan the files.

No, it won't. But, it will scan the file right after you download it. But, LimeWire is a very bad program. Even though you have virus-protection, you are opening your ports to the internet, meaning everyone will have access. Servers, computers, whatever, anything that is associated with LimeWire can download music right off your computer and some can use that vulnerability to gain access to your computer and leave you crying for your mommy.
I don't believe it scans files while they are being download. But, once the download is complete, the virus might still activate in which, in theory, McAfee should kick in. Always update your antivirus just to be on the safe side.
It scan it for any virus as it is down loaded just like e-mail.
Using P2P networks is NEVER a good idea. Biggest reason is that you don't get the infection from infected MP3 files (although possible, extremely unlikely). you get infections from being connected to a Server where there are THOUSANDS of other users, who may have infections, that SEEK out your PC via the OPEN ports needed to run P2P networks. Since you install Limewire or another P2P network, Mcafee will assume you left those open ports open for a reason, thus ignoring most of what comes in untill it is too late.

P2P=BAD
