My spyware program found this, should I remove it? |
Microsoft.Windows.IEFirewallBy... I am willing to bet that you are using Spybot for your spyware program. Spybot is famous for giving those type of warnings and leaving the user hanging and not sure just what to do! It appears to be telling you that your built-in Windows firewall has been disabled. This can be a recipe for disaster. Or it may not. Your spyware program found nothing. There is nothing to remove. It is simply an informational warning. Every Windows computer needs a firewall to protect itself from worms and hackers. If you are using an "aftermarket" firewall such as ZoneAlarm, Kerio, Comodo etc. OR a security suite such as Norton Internet Security etc, then everything is fine. You have a firewall protecting your computer and Windows built-in firewall should be turned off in this case. However, if you are NOT using an aftermarket firewall AND you have Windows firewall disabled (bypassed) then you computer is at risk. And the solution in this case is to turn Windows firewall back on. A firewall should never be disabled for even a minute. Firewall is your friend, protecting you from some of the nasties found on the internet! Hope this cleared things up for you.No, dont remove it. its part of the Windows firewall system. No! I think it is related to the Windows firewall and removing it might be risky. no First Quarentine it. Check the address of the file eg C:/> Windows. If it does not impact on a program u use and the computer continues to be stable, remove it. please check out http://computer-probs.blogspot.com/... It not only gives complete solutions but also offers free downloads of effective softwares which can detect and eliminate all spy ware /virus /ad ware /Trojans completely. |
