My wallpaper just changed into a new one with " click here to SCAN YOUR PC FOR SPYWARE"?

HELP,
PLUS EVERY NOW AND THEN A INTERNET EXPLORER WINDOW POPS IN TELLING ME TO BUY AN ANTI SPYWARE

DO NOT CLICK TO SCAN - IT IS A TROJAN

Free - For starters, download, update and run a full scan using SuperAntiSpyware (SAS) http://www.superantispyware.com/
SAS is an exceptionally easy to use application that will remove the majority of difficult Trojans and Worms, not just the easy ones. In addition it has the ability to remove Vundo and Smitfraud infections. SAS can lock your home page to prevent browser hi-jacking attempts.

If possible it is recommended that you load SAS in normal mode but run it in Safe Mode. Safe Mode can be started by continually pressing F8 during the boot sequence. If you are badly infected you might need to run SAS more than once to help clean your system. Afterwards if the only infections now being shown are in System Restore, once you are completely satisfied that you can boot normally, you can either delete the infected restore points manually, or temporarily turn off System Restore to purge the files.

Assuming you have some real awkward infections that persist even after trying the above I suggest you download a dedicated Smitfraud removal program from either of these locations:
http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.p...
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/deskto...
If possible run in Safe Mode.

Likewise the dedicated VundoFix:

Good luck & safe surfing.

You've got spyware!!! Get the real antispyware, SuperAntiSpyware, to get rid of this and other stuff like it.
http://www.superantispyware.com/

It sounds like you have malware on your computer. Try scanning your computer with AVG (free anti virus software). Go to http://free.grisoft.com

Get a good antispyware and an antivirus, that thing You got is either a trojan or similar. I recommend the usage of ESET Smart Security and Spyware Doctor. Works best sofar.
And WhoDaresWins is right, never click on that.

Is that phony alert or warning or popups, trying to sell you one of these useless products that are listed here?:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/roguenet.php
If your answer is "Yes" then keep on reading...

(DO NOT BUY THE PRODUCT THEY TRY TO SELL YOU! IT IS SCAM.)

A specialised removal tool will be needed to remove the malware (Smitfraud or Vundo) that is causing your problem. Almost all "general purpose","all-in one" spyware and virus removal programs such as Adaware 2007, Norton, McAfee or Spybot S & D cannot remove Smitfraud or Vundo.

A good removal tool that specialises in removing these 2 types of infections is RogueRemover Free:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover...

After running RogueRemover, to clean-up any remaining infection traces, scan for trojans,
and spyware etc and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with Ewido Online Scanner ( now known as AVG Anti-Spyware). This is NOT the same as AVG Anti-Virus. Press "Scan your computer now online and clean it for free!" on the left.
http://www.ewido.net/en/

Good luck.

Don't fall for it.

If you have an anti-virus, I suggest you make sure it has the latest virus definitions and run a scan with it. If you don鈥檛 have one, many people here swear by AVG (it鈥檚 free).

I suggest you also download Ad-Aware 2007 and Spybot S&D (they鈥檙e free), install them, update them and run them. If any of the above (or any anti-malware, for that matter) doesn鈥檛 seem to be able to get rid of everything it reports finding, try running it again in Safe Mode. Safe Mode often prevents malware from protecting itself.

Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.

Finally, you may have a SmitFraud infection that the above softwares can't handle. If so, download SmitFraudFix (below).

To get into Safe Mode:

1. Log out and reboot your machine.
2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.
4. When the login screen comes up, log in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.
5. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance.
6. When you're finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

Note that even if the anti-malware programs get rid of the malware, they may not be able to reverse the effects. Search the Web for possible fixes.

Update and run everything regularly.

Good luck.
