Downloading a virus, by accident? |
can I go go on line as a limited user to avoid downloading a virus Any user on a computer on any kind of account can introduce a virus to said computer. Use a good anti virus, dont download codecs for films that you got from file sharing. In fact dont download stuff from p2p. Get a decent firewall and some anti spyware. Dont download anything from the internet. Dont go on the internet. Dont have a computer. Dont eat eggs, fish fatty meat. Dont smoke, dont drink do drugs or otherwise alter your mind chemically, dont breathe the air. Dont have sex ever again No, but nice question. Safets way is to ensure you have Norton or similar. Even after that you have to actually do something if the virus arrives at your machine. Easy m8 if you don't want to get a virus simply don't go on the Internet LOL. please DON'T use Norton or AVG, they both suck and me and my friend have both been infected even though we used those. use Avira or Avast as your antivirus and ZoneAlarm as your firewall, they are both really good no you cant if thats what your looking for, but you can use a program that makes viruss not able to get out the program (a little confusingly said there) its called sandboxiee or something. it makes it so if you downald a program you run it in sandboxiee and if it has a virus, it cant effect you unless you run it out of sandboxiee. i would use KASPERSKY security ,only the best. and if you are overly protective, turn on parental controls for the internet on yourself, then deny you from downloading anything that isnot trusted. simple as that. if your afraid of getting a virus don't d/l anything, stay out of porn sites and chatrooms, and don't open any e-mail you can't trust. Surfing as a limited user will stop most viruses infecting your computer, either create another account, ( control panel >user accounts ) or use a program like DropMyRights.Note,as a limited user, you cannot download and install programs, as you are not allowed to alter the registry, but then the same will apply for viruses |
